Car Rental Company Information

While there are many places you can go to get a quote for car rental, there are typically only two major types of car hire companies. The first group of companies own their own cars (known as a fleet) and may have agreements with car manufacturers to provide all the cars for that fleet. An example of this type of company would be Avis or Hertz.

The other type of car hire company operate on a broker model and have commercial agreements with the car hire companies with vehicles to provide access to their fleets of cars. An example of this type of company would be Auto Europe or Holiday Autos.

There are pros and cons for both options when thinking about renting a vehicle so you can’t assume you’ll get a better price by either going direct or through an agency. Going direct to the car rental firm that will eventually provide your car can be cheaper but is not always the case.

Running a fleet brings with it massive costs and the brokers (who buy in bulk) get large discounts from the rental companies by guaranteeing that a large portion of their fleet will be paid for.

So it pays to shop around. In this section are profiles of the major rental companies so you can see a little bit more about each of them. Also included are links to their web sites so you can go and get quotes for your next rental. Don’t forget to also get a car hire quote from us too though, we could be cheaper!
